A RECENT Pew Research study revealed that we are in the single longest period of decline in trust in government in American history.
The Tesla Files will cover topics that explore this notion, have a "ripped-from-the-headlines" feel and resonate with modern society, such as government surveillance, secret underground facilities and artificial intelligence.
Each topic reveals arresting new developments, like details of a new app that allows smartphone cameras to be turned on without you knowing and televisions that can record audio in your home. The Tesla Files premieres 27 June, Wednesdays 9.55pm.
This June, History brings you Forged in Fire: Knife or Death S1 which is a different format from the usual Forged in Fire and is a new competition series featuring the country's most experienced blade smiths, martial artists, and knife experts.
In every episode, competitors take a timed run through an obstacle course which tests the strength, sharpness, and craftsmanship of their blades, along with their skills at wielding them. Only the two competitors with the fastest times gain entry to the final round each week.
The winner of each episode earns a cash prize, and a coveted spot in the season finale where they will compete in the Championship showdown. Forged in Fire: Knife or Death S1 premieres 14 June, Thursdays 9pm.
A few months ago, Marty learned of a mystery that rivals that of Oak Island when he was introduced to Kevin Dykstra, a fellow Michigan man.
Dykstra along with his brothers James and Mark, is obsessed with a story of national treasure that goes back to the Civil War. Where In 1865, Union soldiers from Michigan tracked down Jefferson Davis before the defeated rebel president fled the country and they allegedly confiscated something of value from him and smuggled it north on a train.
They later buried the train engine to hide their tracks, and began arguing over the mysterious treasure. Part of it was allegedly put into a train car on a barge that sank in Lake Michigan and Part of it may lay in a warren of tunnels beneath Michigan, another trove allegedly exists in Utah in the cave of a man who committed suicide.
Kevin believes he can find the buried train, and has permission to dive the Lake Michigan site. He is also investigating the Utah and Michigan leads, as well as banks which may contain remnants of the treasure, and various connected sites in the American south.
Is it all part of a vast conspiracy, one which connects the assassination of Abraham Lincoln to the rise of America's super-rich, and created a nation where billionaires are king? Truth is gold. The Curse of Civil War Gold premieres 27 June, Wednesdays 10.50pm.
